Simplified

I am not as computer savy as I'd like, but, Annie is.  So I sent her a little message this morning to help me simplify my blog.  I liked the old look, it was just kinda busy. I guess I'm kinda busy, but i digress.....Annie hooked it up and now my words are on white and easy to read and you get an idea of the type of mobile home park I'd like to avoid seeing our park grow into.  Anyway, enjoy!

I'm excited

So....my office is ugly.  I hate to say it, but it is.  Years ago Doc moved in to this office and I'm sure at that point it was stylin and profilin, but not now.  There are lots of fake floweres, a flower boarder in hunter green and rose and we have lots of green, well, everywhere, but not modern greens, hunter and jungle greens.  Its not me.  Seriously, if you followed that link, you know what I'm working with.  In all fairness, we share the building with Dollar General and there is a good possibility that they will want to expand which means we may be building a new place in a couple years so why sink money into a place you will be leaving.  It does need a facelift though and we are working on it.  I'm thriled because Doc had the broken cracked sign taken down and the outside was just repainted and looks great.

Now, time for the inside.  I picked out a paint color and that border is comin down!  Doc picked up the paint for me on Friday and it's sitting in the records room.  Its not exactly what I would pick for my home, but it will be great in our office.  It goes well with the existing chairs and counter tops (which are also green).  I'm starting with the biggest impact rooms, the waiting room and front desk area to make sure we all like it when it goes on the walls, then maybe we will expand down the hall and into the SIX treatment rooms, the exam room and the office, plus the bathroom and x-ray room.  The office is huge!  I am also gonna talk to my cousin jud who is an artist and see about getting some of his paintings to display so we can take down those fake flowers.  I just can't wait.  I'm supposed to do take down the border after Saturday office hours, but Zac is not home on Monday or Tuesday nights, so I think I may try to get the border down tomorrow night.  I will, of course, post before and after pictures.  Get excited too!  My office is getting a small facelift!

I thought they were lying

Old people always used to tell me "time moves faster when you get older."  I always thought they were lying.  Until I woke up and realized that Carolbean is 8 months old and trying to crawl, Aubrie now has little girl legs, Everett speaks in full sentences (sometimes) and I've been married almost a year.  Plus, I'm a doctor now and am not in any classes which I can only barely handle.  It just seem so weird that its May.  May.  I have no idea where my time goes.  Every Monday I think "where did my weekend go" and every Friday I think "can't believe its the weekend already."

This weekend is the big weekend.  The sisters and I have our spring show.  We started working in October and have so much to sell.  The problem is that I love it all.  If I could have just put it all in storage for when Zac and I built our house that would have been great.  The only thing that sucks is that I have to do a community health fair in the morning and will be missing the opening of our sale.  I was bummed, but the other doc in the office agreed that if I did 9-11 he'd do 11-1 which was very nice considering he has no real desire to participate at all.  I gotta wrap this up.  I've been swamped this week helping wrap up the EE stuff and helping my friend on her new house so I'm finishing up my real job stuff at home.  Posters here I come!

I'm kinda listening

I am a movie kinda girl.  I would rather pop in a flick than surf channels anyday. Zac and I decided a long time ago that we didn't really need cable or Dish or Direct TV.  We opted for $14/month Netflix and I never regret it.  One thing I love is the variety (SO thrilled Netflix has instant streaming)  Zac and I have a tone of movies and even saying that is an understatement.  We have an overwhelming, almost embarassingly large collection....which is one of the reasons I never posted pictures of the office.  I really like to put in a movie while I do other things.  I like background noise while I work and I like it to be kinda mindless.  I like to know that even though my focus is elsewhere, I can jump right back into the plot at anytime.  The following are my most favorite movies

I've seriously about worn out my copy.   It's starting to get little skips, but again, doesn't matter, I can pretty much quote the whole thing anyway.  I'm not 100% why I love this one so much, just do.  Love everything about it.

I can't get over John Goodman in this flick.  The way he yells at Donny and goes off on his tangents.  I know it's not for everyone, but it is for me!anchorman.jpg
Never fails to crack me up.  What can I say, I'm kind of a big deal and Ron Burgundy knows exactly what thats like. Everyday.

The dysfunction just makes them all so wonderful.  I love the narration and the house and, well, everything.  Again, not for everyone, but without a doubt my favorite of Wes Anderson's films.

I also throw in Office Space, Orange County, the Bourne Trilogy, and one other, but that's gonna be for another day.  Anyway, these are my faves, the ones for when I just want to kinda listen and the ones for when all I want for dinner is popcorn and a coke.  What are your go-to flicks?

Topless Sandals

Saw these online the other day and laughed hard at them.  Check it out, topless sandals...

Is it just me, or is this a terrible idea.  They are supposed to be guaranteed to stick for a full year, and prevent those awful flip flop tan lines (really, are they that serious).  Its not the fact that your feet are actually stuck to something, which does seem uncomfortable, who likes stickiness on you foot, but what really made me laugh is what else would stick to these bad boys.  Couldn't wear them to a beach, they'd be ruined with sand.  Couldn't wear them while you mowed the grass.  Couldn't wear them in a public bathroom, toilet paper would stick to them and NEVER come off (which is really the visual that made me laugh hardest).  Someone could literally stick their shoe to your back, like a giant post-it note, and they could say you let people walk all over you (clever right?)  These are just ridiculous.  That being said, I wonder what they are like. If they wanted to send me a free pair, I'd try them.  Just imagine how they'd be if you walked down a dusty road hahaha.  So silly.  Anway, this kinda made my day, so I thought you all should know.  When in doubt, just go topless!

A sweet deal

I know I mentioned yesterday that I hate doing laundry, but lets be real, I just hate having to clean period.  Mom ruined me though, thoroughly ruined me.  I can't live with a dirty house.  I can deal with a little messy, a stack of mail, an unmade bed, but only for a few days.  I can't deal with clothes in dirty piles or grit on the floor or sticky counters yuck!  Zac and I made a deal, each Sunday, when we both have the day off together, we will start at 10:30 and get the house sparkling clean.  We started this week and made the deal that Zac started in the guest bath and I started in the master bath and we worked toward the middle....well, kinda middle.  Zac said he would do up to the laundry room, which meant I had to do all the laundry.  I decided it was a sweet deal and agreed.  Little did I know, he is sneaky dirty.  I started with the laundry first and opened up the washing machine to find this...
Let me just say, Zac has the worst smelling feet.  Just bad, bad smelling.  He uses foot spray and has "breathable" shoes, but I just feel so sad for the boy.  Nothing we try works.  Even his socks smell so bad he won't leave them open to the air in the laundry basket cause  it will reek up his closet.  You can imagine how this smell slapped me in the face when I opened the lid on the washing machine.  He is so SNEEKY  DIRTY!  He just cracks me up.  He thought it was such a great idea and he was glad I was the one that opened the washing machine lid.  I still thought/think this is a sweet deal, stinky socks included, and think this will help us keep the house nice without any drama about who has this job or that job.  Yay compromise!

A confession

I have been doing laundry for years, and I don't know what the hell the difference is between WARM COLD and WARM COLD.  I have no idea.  If you know, please tell me.  I have the sneaking suspicion that this is some mystery that mom probably told me....but that I didn't listen to.  I want to blame this on the fact that this washing machine is new to me.  But I never really changed the temperature on my old washing machine either.
Laundry is just not my thing.  I won't lie, I pretty much hate it.  It's not the washing/drying part that bothers me, its not even really the folding, its the putting away.  Luckily, Zac helps me out with that, so I only have my stuff to tuck away.  None the less, I feel kinda stupid on this one.  Warm cold or Warm Cold.  Seriously, ridiculous.
