I love my family.

There is just something about seeing your husband cuddling your baby that makes you love him even more.  It also makes you cry at random.

I am so thankful for my two favorite men.

I will also be thankful when my hormones level off and I'm not a bawling mess.

I'm so handy

I make people!  And also printer carts....which is probably, well definitely, less interesting.  But anyway, I needed a printer cart for the office.  I needed it to hold the printer, and also hide the water pipes that literally stuck straight outta the wall about a foot off the ground, behind our front desk.
The pipes were not so handy.

Ya'll know that I have a "can do" attitude.  I also figure, why buy it when I can make it.  So I dropped $20 on casters and went to town with some 2x4's in Dad's machine shed.

I started by building the sides.
Nothin special.

Then my front and back.

And, of course, no project is truly successful unless you twist the head clean off at least one screw by being too close to a knot.

Then I stuck them together.

And added the casters.

Next I added a second 2x4 to even out the frame and make a spot for my doors to sit.

And had to toenail in the center board so my doors had something to close agains.
I didn't know where the drill set was, so this was a big pain in the butt...and the reason why I had to build the cart the way I built it.

This is what cart was looking like at this point.
Very cart-y right?

Next I added two doors, which I thefted off of the cabinets we tore out at the office.

That was as far as I could get on my own.  The rest required cutting plywood and when I built this, I was already a week overdue...so I couldn't lift the plywood sheets by myself.

It was ok though, that's part of why I have a husband :)

After Zac helped me out, we had a fully sheeted cart.

Then it was time to fancy him up a bit with some paint.
I started with spray paint, which Zac promptly insisted I stop because of the fumes, remember, still super pregnant at that point.

It wasn't covering worth a darn anyway.

So I brush painted, and then painted, and painted it some more.
It looked good.
All that was left was moving it to the office and using it to hide the darn pipes sticking out of the wall.

This is the cart in place.

BOOM! Printer cart.

Told ya I was handy.

One Month Pictures

On  Sunday Cliffy B turned 8 weeks old.
Where. has. time. gone?

I can't believe I haven't posted these pictures yet.  I have just been swamped.

Well folks, just sit back and prepare yourselves to fall even deeper in love with sweet baby Clifford.
He rocks.

These pictures were just serendipitous.  I sat Cliff in a big bowl my mom gave me while I set up his first   props.  He became a big ol flirt while my back was turned.  Luckily, my friend Jamie was at the ready and got some pictures of him while I was busy.

I decided that for halloween Itty Bitty would be a candy corn.
I sewed him a fab costume.  He loved it.
Until picture time.
As soon as I put the white hat on, he was a screamin meany.
So, I literally have A single picture of him dressed up.
I also left the outfit with my photographer because Itty Bitty was already outgrowing it and there was no way it would fit in the 2 weeks it took for the holiday to actually come and go.

This was t-minus 5 seconds til freak out.

Luckily I had snapped a decent one at home when I tried it on him.
Ha-larious!

Next came the cutest pictures I think Jamie may have ever taken.
(Not that I'm partial to the subject at all...)

I just love his expression here.  Ya know he's mad, but it doesn't make him less adorable.

He quickly mellowed out, and we got this amazing shot.

Oh Cliff.
Melts my heart.

His Aunt Maggie did a bit of crafting for him too, and made him a super cute crown.
He is our little prince after all.

He rocked it.

So precious.

How do you choose between pictures of a sweet sleeping baby?
I just can't.

I love the awake pictures too.
Ol' Cliffy B and those beautiful eyes.

I love his hair and his fat arms in this one.

Uhhhh! So Cute!
I just can't get over my baby.
I wish all you guys could meet him.  You'd never want to put him down.  And I couldn't blame you a bit!

Super 80's

Some days Clifford has super 80's big hair.
And sometimes, that hair matches his super 80's gown.

He pretty much rocks the look.

And the playmat rocks his world.

If you're keepin track, that's 80's hair, 80's shirt, and a rockin' playmat.
Eat your heart out Brett Michaels.

First Bath

This post is a little belated.  Well, like 2 or 3 weeks to late.
Cliff seemed to have an umbilical cord that would NOT fall off.
Took forever.
The whole time it was attached, we bathed him in the guest bathroom sink.  It was a bit hard because he is giant.  After the first week he really didn't fit well.  I was just waiting for that darned ol cord.

After the sink, Cliff upgraded.
Maggie's sister-in-law Tiffany let me borrow her whale tub, since the baby bath thing I bought would require a ridiculous amount of water to keep him warm and remotely covered.
He loves it.

And his daddy does a good job of cleanin him up.

I think bath time is the favorite time of day for both of my men.

My goodness...

I just love them both so bad.

30th brthday

Tuesday, the 9th, was Zac's 30th birthday.  Neither of us can even believe it.  How in the world is Zac 30?!
Which begs the question, when did my husband get old?
Does that mean I'm getting old?
Is 30 really the new 20?
Let us all hope so.

Time is really flying by.
This is Zac's 6th birthday that he's had me to buy him gifts.
This year, not so surprizingly, he wanted electronics.
More specifically, he wanted money to build a computer to act as our media server now and in the future.
"Media" may be Zac's first love.
Well, second now that Cliff is here, but it is his biggest passion for sure.
Zac's 30th birthday also fell on the same day as Cliffy turning 1 whole month old.
As I mentioned, time is flying!

We decided to get a picture of the two of them together.
It went poorly.

Thank goodness we are not quitters.
Cliff might be though....
Thank goodness he has his daddy to soothe him.

Well, kind of.

As I mentioned...Zac needed a little celebrating.
Of course, Cliff is here, so he needs a card from us both.
Plus, a card gave me opportunity for my sneeky plan.
First, I had to find a card.

Then, I waited til Itty Bitty fell asleep, painted his hand, and signed his daddy's card.
Next...the sneeky business.

Cliff seemed to have his umbilical cord forever.
For. Ev. Er.
Seriously, like 3 and a half weeks.
The entire time it grossed Zac out.  He would yell at me when I cleaned around it, constantly insisting that I was hurting him, when he was clearly fine.
We were both thrilled when his cord finally fell of.
It happened to fall off in the middle of the night and I had to fish it out of his sleeper.
I just sat it on the changing table.

And, that's where it continued to sit.
See, gross.
Neither of us wanted to touch it again.  We were at a stalemate.
Who was gonna cave first and throw it away....then I hatched a plot.

And Cliff officially had a "present" to give his daddy.

Hahahaha, gross.
And that was pretty much Zac's reaction too.

"Is that Cliff's cord. Ew. I'm gonna throw it away."

Sorry cord.  You were icky.
Happy birthday honey!
Cracked me up.

That evening we went out for a super classy dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.
It is not a real celebration if you don't have to use the extra straw on the table to clean your teeth.
Yep. Thanks husband for that move.  Sexy.

On the way there Zac realized it was cheap wings night.  He was thrilled, then a bit disappointed.
He said he hoped he could eat all that he planned to, since lunch had left him uncomfortably full.
He said "Seriously, I didn't stop being uncomfortable until about the time we left the house." (which was about 6:30)  And followed up with, "I went out to lunch for my birthday today.  It was half price taco day.  I ate 4 mini-burritos, 2 tacos, and a quesadilla."  Then I snort laughed.
He is ridiculous.  And apparently has a hollow leg.

Thank goodness for my ridiculous husband.
My ridiculous, 30 year old husband.
Happy birthday Zac.
You are loved.
