Cliffy B's 6 month shoot

Over a month ago I went and had Cliff's 6 month pictures taken.  It's actually getting a bit late for me to take his 7 month pictures....so safe to say, these are a late.

Nonetheless.  Here's my sweet babe at 6 months old :)

And my personal favorite....

He really is adorable. Some days I just can't get over it.  Things are slowing down a bit finally.  Or maybe it just feels like that because the days are getting longer.

Zac and I are still working on the house.  Well, Zac is.  I am at home with the baby mostly.  Occasionally I get a sitter for a few hours and get to help on Sundays.  At this point we have ripped out the paneling, demolished a bathroom, moved around some electric, hung drywall and put down cement board for the tile floors.  It is slow going, but I'll try to post pictures soon.

The office is picking up.  I am getting ready to run a few promotions and am praying for a good response.  You feel free to pray for that too.  :)

I promise at some point I will try to write with some regularity.  My goal was to have this be my own little memoir for Cliff.  Do one better than a baby book.  So far, fail.  I am, however, keeping up with his baby book. But lest you be impressed, I have not printed any pictures since his birth.  Mom fail.

InfantSee

You may or may not know that of my sisters 5 kids, 3 of them have glasses.
Zac has glasses.
I was hoping and hoping that Cliffy B would not need them.

You also may or may not have heard of the InfantSee program.
Kiddos from 6-12 months old can get their first vision check for no charge.
Awesome right!?

Cliff went to see Dr. Jones in Effingham last Thursday.

Doc said that he is far-sighted.  More so in his left eye.  He wanted to dilate his eyes to get an idea of the prescription.  Cliff blocked him on the right eye.

The end result was a cute puss-in-boots effect that lasted for a day and a half.

Oh my sweet little man.

So darn cute.

Luckily, the doc thinks he will grow out of it.  He doesn't have to go back until he is 2 or 3.
Yay for ok vision :)

Half of a year

I haven't blogged in forever.

I have so much to write about that I can't find a starting point.
I have been working like crazy.  Doing wellness talks all over town.  Traveling for continuing education.  Cleaning up a rental.  Fixing up a country house.  And running around like a circus juggler  trying my best to keep all the balls in the air.

One thing that I can't get over, is the weeks flying by at near the speed of sound.

That's what this little post is about.
My baby is now 6 months old!
Half a year ago my life was completely transformed.
I became a mom, gave up on sleep, and was forced to find the joy in wiping a little butt and cleaning his booger nose.  But, when you look at pictures of my baby (who was never quite baby sized) you see why those things weren't too hard to do.

Here are a few pictures we snapped at home the other day.
Enjoy my Cliffy B and his chubby arms and thighs!

Random Facts, Vol. 11

My husband has an odd habit.
I suppose, honestly, it is my fault he has it.

It all started when he was still working in St. Louis.  He was gone half the week, home half of the week.  He was half living out of a suitcase (or in his case, duffel bag) for about 2 years.

One thing that drove me crazy was that he would pack extra clothes, then mix the clean and the dirty stuff together in his bag, so I never knew what needed washed, and the clean clothes weren't exactly downy fresh. I would complain about washing "clean" clothes again because he couldn't figure out an appropriate spacial arrangement in his luggage.

This continued up in until the day he then started making me what he called dirty clothes "packets."
Yep.
Packets.

What in the world is he talking about you ask?
This.....

This is a picture from our hotel from last weekend.
As you can see, Zac has made 3 lovely dirty clothes "packets" for me.  Didn't put them back in his bag, but left them on the table...I digress.

Basically Zac decided that he would wrap all of his dirty things up inside of his t-shirt for the day.  Socks, wrapped up in boxers, balled up in a t-shirt.  Boom!  Packet.
His clean clothes were kept from smelling like dirty socks and a habit was born...

Now when he travels, he comes home with his clothes just like this for me.
I am a lucky girl.

God bless my husband, and his well contained filth.

Growing up

This is Cliffy B on Tuesday....the day I had been dreading.

A while back I wrote a post called To Cut or Not to Cut.  People were expecting it to be about his hair, but alas, it was about circumcision.  Perhaps it was a sneaky title..but that's just because Itty Bitty was born with so much hair. So. Much. Hair.  Fear not, this is the hair post you've been waiting for.

My mom and sisters have been all over me to have his hair cut.  Everytime we were around them I was harassed.  I got a lot of "it is in his eyes!" and "lose the sweatband" comments.
When we moved Maggie I was lectured again about his bangs.
I pinned them back.
I was lectured about the pin.
"He is a boy!"
Choose one.  Accept the long bangs, or accept the pin.
The family choose neither.

So, after much delaying and dodging, I finally picked the day and set up Cliffy B's appointment.
He was having a long crazy hair day....

Cliff, as always, was in good spirits.

He thinks his Aunt Mag is funny.

He is a super ham.

He is just a ladies man.  Plus we all know how Maggie likes to put the smooch down on handsome guys.

He sat like a big boy in his bumbo chair and got his hair all sprayed down.

I admit, it was long...and in his eyes.

He was as calm as could be.

Then the cutting started...

He adjusted to it for a minute...

then decided it was hilarious!

It was really becoming a gentleman's haircut.

Turns out he has my cowlicks.

He also has very delicious fists.

When he was all done I scooped his hair into a little baggie for his baby book.
And I teared up a bit....he just looks so big!

How is Cliff so old at 4 months?  How did this happen!?

Aunt Mag threw a little product in his bangs and bam!
Happy exploded all over his little face.

Hair cuts are awesome!

Thanks Aunt Mag!

We love you and Cliff's new do!

Daddy time

There are a few things I didn't realize about becoming a mom.

One thing I didn't expect was how my heart would go all grinchy and swell 3 times bigger when I see Zac and Cliff together.

But it does.
Every single time.

In the evenings, we kick it together as a family.
We are diligent about Cliffy B having a bath and bed routine.  He always gets a bath, gets dressed and nurses himself to sleep....but sometimes we take a little time to play first.

Itty Bitty loves to fly around.  He belly laughs about it.
So does Zac.

Cliff Stu can't control his own face though, so this lean he has going is to avoid Zac being drool bombed.  Our bed got the worst of it.

Again, notice the ridiculous drool hanging from his mouth.

Luckily he is so cute, no one cares.

How handsome is my little man?!

I can't get over his sweet chubby arms :)

I am still surprised everyday that he has blue eyes.
He is gonna be a lady man.

See how sweet these two are together?
Ford loves his daddy.

And his daddy loves him right back.

They aren't even yours and I can feel you ladies getting misty eyed.
I get it.
I just love them so bad!
