Today we had a brunch at Grandma Toot's assisted living for Mother's Day. It was an opportunity to spend a little time with my favorite moms.
Here's a picture of 4 generations of my family.
From the left, Ollie and Annie, Mom, Caroline and Mggie, Me and Penelope.
In front are Grandma and Aubrie.
I was cracking up at the way Elle Pea's legs look in this picture. Then laughed hard when Zac told me she had "baby ricketts." Oh Zac. Ridic.
Here are a few shots from the rest of the morning.
I love her fat belly always hangin out!
She looks good, and she knows it!
Aren't my sisters and their babies pretty?! I know. They are.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I don't know if I get to count it as my first or not, but maybe. I know one thing for sure, it's a day for celebrating the mamas in my life.
I've got a darn good ma. She is loving, and generous and I'm fortunate to say, never made me look elsewhere for a good example. She loves my Dad the way Mom should. She taught me to cook, and clean (maybe obsessively). My mom is one of my biggest cheerleaders and I will be forever thankful for her.
My mother-in-law, Lolla, is also great. Zac got jsut as lucky as I did in the parent department. Lolla is funny and loving and smart. She's a hell of a cook. She is such a caretaker, it cracks me up. I swear I almost gotta hound her to let me help when we visit. Zac is a total mama's boy, even if he doesn't think so. But for sure, you know you've got a great mother-in-law when you've spent nearly 7 years with your guy, and you can't remember having ever been annoyed with her. Again, I'm a lucky girl!
I've got plenty of great examples around me... my grandmas, my moms, my sisters, my cousins, and my best friends. I know the type of mom I want to be, now I just gotta wait it out til I get my chance!
Just watch out Cliffy, there's a whole lotta women waiting for ya!
You really do have a beautiful family, Abbie :-) And you are lucky you have a great mother-in-law; mine was completely annoying and insane (but I did have a great step-mother-in-law :-) You should absolutely celebrate Mother's Day for yourself, Clifford would want you to. :-)
