I did it.

Forever ago I decided that I was going to train for a 5K.  It seemed ridiculous, it was a little bit.  But I did it.  I ran 3-4 times each week on a 2 and 1/2 mile loop from my little trailer, back to my little trailer.  I was hoping that in two months I'd look like this.

All slim and trim, but I'm afraid that was unrealistic.  Instead I settled for unflattering horizontal stripes.  Hooray for afterthoughts!  Anyway, this is me and Courtney right before our run.
I did pretty bad really.  It was blazing hot out, shoulda figured that when I signed up for a July 24th race,   otherwise I have no real excuse.  I did finish it and at my next 5K two weeks later, I took 1min/mile off my time on a much harder course.  So that's been it for now.  Two 5K's and two t-shirts.  I am still running but I'm down to once or twice a week.  Gotta step it up again before our trip to Florida.  The countdown is on!

  3. I could not run if my butt was on fire as I like to say...however, the trail of pee would probably put out a fire!

  4. I'm no expert but you write a pretty good ole blog. And I've seen you in person, you're gorgeous horizontal stripes or no.

  5. Don't feel bad. I can't run or my uterus falls out. True story!

  6. Congrats girl!!! Doesn't it feel great? I did my first sprint triathlon 2 wks ago and thought I might just die, but I crossed that finish line eventually. I've vowed to keep training, although at a more moderate pace. I just like the satisfaction I feel from knowing that I'm doing what it takes to be strong and kick butt!
